Community Based Programs

 Domestic Violence Task Force

The Mission of the DVSA is the enhance our community through a proactive and collaborative effort to end violence, both domestic and sexual. We are committed to fostering a safer, more comfortable environment by developing and maintaining effective relationships among key community agencies and partnering to promote community awareness, support and outreach to those who experience violence. We are guided by the core values of integrity and respect for all persons. The Task Force meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

 ​Suicide Prevention Task Force

Combining with local agencies to develop a statewide coalition with strong regional presence. The combined efforts of many individuals can make a difference to help prevent suicides.

 ​Elder Abuse Task Force

To facilitate and develop expertise in prosecuting elder abuse; train professionals such as bank staff and medical personnel who are in constant contact with senior citizens on how to identify and report cases of potential fraud and abuse; and educate the public about elder abuse and how to prevent and report it.

 ​Reality Tour

Partnering toget/DA/Images/her with Armstrong/ Indiana Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission to facilitate the Reality Tour. Children and their parents are invited to participate in this informative tour depicting the life of a drug addict.

 ​Drug Information Panels

Partnering with the Drug Task Force, Armstrong Indiana Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission and other local agencies to hold an open panel discussion about drug activity in local areas. These forums are open to the public.

 ​Prescription Drug Take Back Program

A safe program created in order for people to dispose of their unused/unwanted prescription drugs. Take Backs are scheduled throughout the year or you can bring your unused/unwanted drugs to the District Attorney’s Office.
