Carol Hanna,
Judge

Carol Hanna was born in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania in 1956 and graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School, Kingston, Pennsylvania in 1974.

She is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (B.A., History). She received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982.

Judge Hanna was elected to be Indiana County’s third judge in November 2003. She took the oath of office on December 30, 2003 and began serving as judge on January 5, 2004.

Prior to becoming judge, she was a partner in the law firm, Hanna & Hanna, from 1987 until 2003. She served as Child Custody Mediator from 1992 to 2000, Assistant District Attorney from 1991 to 2000, Domestic Relations Staff Attorney from 2000 to 2003, and Juvenile Court Master from 2001 to 2003.

Judge Hanna is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Indiana County Bar Association, the Domestic Relations Association of Pennsylvania and the Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission.

She is married to Jack Hanna and is the mother of two children.
